I was recently reminded of something my mother instilled in me growing up: don't follow the crowd. What does that have to do with business, you ask?
Just because somebody else is doing it doesn't mean you have to. This one is easy for me as an introvert, I'm almost always going in the opposite direction anyway. No peer pressure or FOMO here.
Just because that's the way it's always been done doesn't mean you have to do it that way. This is my wheelhouse. There is wiggle-room and space for differentiation in some things that will raise you above the noisy crowd. Do that.
Just because you didn't do 'this' doesn't mean you can't do 'that'. There can be more than one way to arrive at a solution.
For the most part, there is room for you to forge your best path, even if it's not always straight!
Don't be discouraged about your schedule or arrival at your destination by feeling like you should have been there or further along by now. The Universe has recently reminded me that I am only responsible for planning and preparing, not the timing or the outcome.
